In the '60s, the handful of American astronauts were all heroic figures, household names, celebrities. Now, over forty years later, there are many more astronauts, but almost no celebrities among them. And in spite of the Challenger and Columbia tragedies, space shuttle crews still make it look effortless and routine. Now former shuttle astronaut Thomas Jones shows us that space flight is still a wonder, and feeling 8 G's of force on liftoff is still an awfully sobering experience. Jones calls his book Sky Walking.
